, Director-General of the Customs Authority, Shaker Al-Zubaidi, emphasized five points for developing customs work in Iraq.
This came during his visit to the Directorate of Kumark Central Region, where he inspected the directorate's facilities and met with its director and department managers, and urged everyone to work hard and persevere to eliminate the dark period that passed by the authority during the past period.
He stressed "a number of points that must be worked on to improve customs work, including: -
● Applying the customs law correctly and accurately to eliminate the employee's human diligence.
● The necessity of activating the investigation department and complying with the legal articles (183186187) of the Customs Law and the necessity of activating this section strongly due to its importance in the judiciary On smuggling and evasion
● Activating the lawsuits and execution department to resolve all lawsuits, which number approximately (578) as customs lawsuits.
● Executing all decisions issued by the judiciary and collecting the amounts issued according to judicial decisions.
● Activating the production tax department, and there should be coordination with the General Directorate of Industrial Development or with the Investment Authority to list companies and factories and prepare a program for the purpose of following up and opening records in this regard.
