The Minister of Interior, Abd al-Amir al-Shammari, directed that a number of officers and affiliates who had failed to perform their duties in the People's Police Department in Baghdad should be punished.
A statement from the Ministry of the Interior stated, “Minister Abdul Amir Al-Shammari conducted an inspection tour to the People’s Police Station, where he was briefed on the progress of work and the duties assigned to him. He instructed the minister to punish the negligent in accordance with the controls, laws and administrative contexts.
He added, "Al-Shammari conducted another field tour in the Al-Shaab region to see the security situation and inspect the conditions of citizens in this region," stressing the need to "provide the best services to them, and enhance security and stability in all areas of the capital."
