     Information / Baghdad..
Member of the Parliamentary Security Committee, Representative Salah Al-Tamimi, stressed on Tuesday the need for Iraq to increase the capacity and preparation of the border guard forces, indicating that his committee supports this approach to achieve 4 important goals.

Al-Tamimi said in an interview with Al-Maalouma, “The border guards are an important force with several duties. They are concerned with a very sensitive and complex issue, and they represent Iraq’s first line of defense against any external threats or challenges,” pointing out that “half of stability begins with safe and effective borders.”
He added, "His committee strongly supported the expansion of the border forces through the new assignment to the Ministry of Interior," pointing out that "re-establishing the international border with Iran from the Kurdistan region requires an increase in numbers in order to cover all regions."
He pointed out that "support for the border forces does not stop at the human element, but rather the tools that help in performing their duties, whether through surveillance cameras, building towers, or using modern technology for remote monitoring and follow-up."
He continued, "Supporting the border forces came to achieve 4 important goals, the most prominent of which is preventing any infiltration or smuggling operations and blocking any attempts to create areas of tension with neighboring countries."
The border forces had begun to deploy weeks ago on the border strip with Iran from the direction of the Kurdistan region and to end any unofficial headquarters. Ended February 25
