Makiya confirmed, in a statement, a copy of which was received by {Al-Furat News}, that: “The signing of the contract for consulting services and engineering supervision for the Al-Rafidain Towers project came within the fundamental procedures that fall within the authority’s area of responsibility.”
He added, "The Authority's technical and engineering staff are keen to implement controls and work in contexts that ensure a safe investment environment within precise standards at the level of technical value and safety of designs and their implementation for investment projects." Makiya explained, "The two contracts were referred
to the Contracting and Gestion Company (SEG) and the General Housing Company ." (CHC) with the consulting offices at the Iraqi and Al-Mustansiriya universities.
