Bloomberg reported, citing officials, that the military campaign on the Gaza Strip is expected to continue for up to half a year, indicating that Israel’s goal this time is different from previous times.[/size]
[size=45]They explained, “The plan was previously to leave Hamas weak but steadfast, and now the (Israeli) government wants to destroy it as a movement and ensure that Gaza will not remain a threat to Israel.”[/size]
[size=45]The agency said that the United States and other allies are pressuring Israel to define its goals and determine its vision of what will happen next.[/size]
[size=45]The agency quoted sources that the Israeli security services had created a group for which all Hamas leaders participating in the attack on Israel on October 7 would serve as targets. In addition, according to sources, Israel plans to create a buffer zone to prevent further attacks from the Gaza Strip.[/size]
[size=45]On Sunday, the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Karim Khan, stressed that international law must be applied regarding violations in the war between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip, expressing his concern about the increasing incidents launched by Israeli settlers against Palestinians in the West Bank.[/size]
[size=45]Hamas launched a surprise attack inside Israel on October 7, killing 1,400 people and sparking a wave of Israeli air strikes and an initial ground operation. Hamas militants are also holding more than 200 hostages from Israel believed to be in Gaza.[/size]
[size=45]Medical authorities in the Gaza Strip, which has a population of approximately 2.3 million people, say that 8,005 Palestinians, including 3,324 children, were killed in the Israeli campaign to eliminate Iranian-backed militants.[/size]
