Mawazine News - Baghdad,
a member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Moeen Al-Kadhimi, confirmed that efforts will continue to pass the salary scale law during the current year, indicating that the government added 800,000 job grades during the past year.
Al-Kadhimi said in a televised interview followed by Mawazine News, “The government, through a committee formed by the Ministries of Finance and Planning, as well as the Financial Supervision Bureau, continues to work on a new salary scale.”
He added, "The new peace must guarantee social justice for all government employees," noting that "last year witnessed the addition of 800,000 employees, including 400,000 free governors."
He pointed out that "the current discussions are focused on adding the region's employees directly to the federal budget, which places additional financial burdens on the state that must be covered.
