    The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs is considering adopting new mechanisms to reduce the phenomenon of begging in coordination with the Ministries of Interior, Education and Higher Education, while it confirmed the opening of a special home to shelter women who are victims of human trafficking and begging gangs.
    Ministry spokesman Najm Al-Aqabi said in an interview with Al-Sabah, followed by Al-Eqtisad News, that begging is a dangerous phenomenon that needs field monitoring by various state institutions to spread awareness and alert to its danger to society, as well as drawing the attention of beggars to the most important services provided to the poor by The Ministry through (posters) and informational publications, as well as organizing educational seminars in coordination with the education directorates, pointing out the formation of a subcommittee in the Ministry for the psychological and societal rehabilitation of beggars in cooperation with the Shiite and Sunni Endowment Offices and the Ministries of Interior, Education and Higher Education to cooperate with the Organizations Department to reduce this dangerous phenomenon. .
    He added that the Ministry of Labor seeks to eradicate poverty by including the largest number of poor families whose members are forced to beg, with social protection salaries, while making sure to move towards empowering young people economically and taking them out of the aid cycle and into soft loans that help invest their energies, by employing them in Various projects contribute to activating the private sector, eliminating their dependence on social subsidies and making them limited to families living below the poverty line.
    At the conclusion of his speech, Al-Aqabi pointed out that the Ministry pays special care to the victims of begging gangs and human trafficking, as a special home was established that includes dozens of women from these victims to provide them with safe shelter, health and social care, and to empower them economically, by enrolling them in training courses and granting them social protection salaries or soft loans. To create their own projects and place them in the labor market.
