    The
    Iraqi rail company said Iraq's determination to rebuild the railway
    network system along the lines of development in the oil sector and
    other sectors, and the revival of the railway system would contribute to

    said that "there are two solutions to address the obstacles that stand
    in the way of the development of the railway is the annual government
    allocation or borrowing from companies that reconstruction projects and
    to make payment in stages depending on the payment term.

    And the
    Director of the project Department of the railway company that "the aim
    of these projects is to unload the goods coming from Asia in the
    southern ports and transported across the railway to the town of Zakho
    and to Europe via Turkey," adding that "Iraq will become a transit point
    for goods transport which takes only 24 hours rather than the long
    journey to the Suez Canal and the Mediterranean Sea.

    Hashim said
    that "the company is also building a new rail line parallel to the old
    line between Baghdad and Basra at a cost of up to $ 700 million. It is
    hoped to enter service by the end of this year, bringing the number to
    2,000-3,000 travelers on the road to Baghdad-Basra on a daily basis at
    the moment. "

    And between the project manager of the railway
    company that "Iraq signed a deal last year with China to import 10
    trains worth $ 115 million," Noting that "every train will accommodate
    about 450 passengers and a speed of 140-160 km/h.

    Hashim said
    that "the length of railways in Iraq of about 2000 km. it is hoped that
    up to 10,000 km of double lines up all the major cities of Iraq
    neighboring countries."
