Bahrain stops publication of newspaper supporting opposition

This is the second time this year that Bahrain has stopped issuing Al-Wasat daily newspaper.
Al Wasat is linked to the Shi'ite-led opposition, which has been facing a campaign by the Sunni-led government since last year.
The ministry said that the Ministry of Information Affairs decided to "stop the issuance and circulation of Al-Wasat newspaper until further notice." The ministry said the newspaper "repeated the dissemination and broadcast of what divides the community and affects the relations of the Kingdom of Bahrain with other countries."
She added that the decision came to publish an article in the Sunday edition that includes "the abuse of one of the sister Arab countries." But it did not specify the state or provide further details.
