German Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Saturday that Saudi Arabia would host the G20 summit at its next session in 2020.
Merkel's announcement of Saudi Arabia's embrace of the 2020 summit, on the sidelines of the group's two-day event in Hamburg, Germany.
Saudi Minister of State and Cabinet Member Ibrahim bin Abdul Aziz al-Assaf represented his country at the current summit, which was titled "Towards Building a Continuing World".
The G-20 will discuss major issues on the international scene, such as terrorism, market regulation and development.
The G-20 was founded in September 1999 in Washington, and the forum accounts for two-thirds of world trade and about 90 percent of world crude output.
