Facilities for participants in the East Economic Forum in Russia

    27/07/2017

Russia is giving participants in the East Economic Forum, which is held annually in the eastern city of Vladivostok, access to Russian territory to participate in the activities and activities of the Economic Forum.

The forum will be held this year at its third session on 6-7 September, during which investors will be offered promising projects in the Russian East, with more than 400 Russian and foreign companies participating.

The participants will be able to visit Vladivostok from 3 to 9 September without a visa, which is part of a presidential decree of 29 June 2015.

Since 2016, participants have been able to enter Russian territory without a visa, and the participant will present his passport at the crossing point on the Russian border, in addition to the accreditation document issued by the organizing committee of the exhibition.

The forum is an important platform to highlight the customs and tax facilities granted by the Russian government to encourage investments in the Far East, especially those related to the free port project in Vladivostok.

In late 2014, Vladivostok, the capital of Primorje province, became a "free port" with advanced customs facilities. Since then, the forum has been part of an ambitious plan to promote economic development in the Russian Far East.

Participants and visitors to the East Economic Forum are also expected to benefit from a simplified visa scheme approved by President Vladimir Putin on March 9, which gives guests of five regions in the Russian Far East: Primorje, Khabarovsk, Sakhalin, Chukotka and Kamchatka, Effective for 30 days, obtained through the Russian Foreign Ministry website.

The simplified visa regime applies to nationals of 18 countries, including Algeria, Bahrain, Brunei, India, Iran, Qatar, China, North Korea, Kuwait, Mexico, Morocco, UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Tunisia, Turkey and Japan.
