EU calls for ending North Korean crisis by "peaceful means"

European Union (EU) Foreign Minister Federica Mujerini on Tuesday urged the international community to use peaceful and non-military means to end the crisis with Pyongyang following an emergency meeting of the Union's policy and security committee to discuss the latest developments on North Korea.
"The EU supports the diplomatic work with its partners with the aim of reducing the tension and denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula by peaceful, not military, means," Mugherini said in a statement.
The European Union "affirms its readiness to support the path leading to a credible and serious dialogue with North Korea and the international community" with a view to ending the crisis of the safe exposure of Asia and the world, he said.
It also appealed to North Korea "to refrain from any other provocative act that can only increase regional and global tensions." Ending / 25
