    Foreign Minister Ibrahim al - Jaafari, on Thursday, the signing of double taxation and a memorandum of political consultation with the UAE agreement, while noting that he discussed the issue of a referendum Kurdistan with the UAE side. 

    "Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari concluded his visit to the UAE capital Abu Dhabi to preside over the ninth meeting of the joint Iraqi-UAE committee and meet with a number of UAE officials," al-Jaafari's office said in a statement.




    "We had a meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed, Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash," Jaafari said at a press conference at the end of his visit. 

    "Talks on the Iraqi side, the review of the latest developments, the delusional suicide, the developments that followed, and some of the new challenges that appeared on the Iraqi horizon recently, including the issue of the Kurdistan referendum," he added. 
    He added that "the UAE side has shown excellent understanding and interaction with the issues raised by us." He pointed out "discussing several files of a political and economic nature that will further strengthen relations and open prospects for cooperation between us and the UAE."

    Al-Jaafari praised the UAE's support for Iraq, where the UAE has embraced the Iraqi initiatives since 2003.     "A double taxation agreement and a number of memorandums of understanding have been signed, including a memorandum of political consultation, cultural cooperation and investment aspects," Jaafari said.

    Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari called on the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to take part in the donors conference to be held in Kuwait in the coming period, stressing Iraq's keenness to strengthen relations with the UAE.
