    China
boosts gas-powered trucks amid pollution control efforts
Liquefied natural gas (LNG) trucks are expected to record record highs in China this year due to government efforts to combat pollution, including restrictions on heavy diesel trucks.
Liquefied natural gas (LNG) trucks account for about 4 percent of more than 6 million heavy trucks with 40-49 tonnes in China. The vast majority of shipments of 43 billion tons were transported across China last year via highways.
Demand for liquefied natural gas (LPG) trucks is on the rise as manufacturers and manufacturers turn to trucks seen by Beijing as a key part of their fight against pollution.
Sales of liquefied natural gas (LPG) trucks jumped 540 percent to about 39,000 in the first seven months of the year, according to Kasi Liu, a truck market analyst at IHS Market Consulting.
This is partly due to the ban imposed this year by the authorities on the use of diesel trucks to transport coal in northern ports in provinces such as Hebei, Shandong and Tianjin.

    Qatar
orders aid to private sector as its economy is hit by sanctions
The government of Qatar has announced measures to help private sector companies after its economy has been hit by sanctions imposed by other Arab countries.
Qatar's Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani has decided to cut the rent paid by companies in the country's logistics regions to half of 2018 and 2019, state news agency QNA reported.
New investors in those areas will be fully exempted from paying the rent for a year if they receive building permits with specified deadlines. Qatar Development Bank (QDB) will delay its loan installments for up to six months to facilitate industrial sector projects. QDB is a government-funded entity that provides loans to companies.
Sheikh Abdullah also told all ministries and government departments to increase their purchases of local products to 100 percent from 30 percent if local products meet the required specifications and the procurement process complied with bid rules.
Qatar's economy grew only 0.6 percent from a year earlier in April to June, the slowest growth since the global financial crisis of 2009-2010 after Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt cut diplomatic relations and transport contacts on June 5.
The four countries accuse Doha of supporting terrorism, which Qatar denies. The sanctions have led to Gulf countries withdrawing deposits from Qatari banks, exacerbating a fall in real estate prices and a 18 percent decline in the stock market.
