French President Emmanuel Macaron said on Sunday that his country would expel any foreigner who has no residency if he commits a crime or a misdemeanor.

"Every foreigner who does not have identity papers and residence will be expelled from France if he commits an offense or a misdemeanor," McCron said in an interview with French television channel TFI and LCI.
He stressed the need to "combat illegal immigration through cooperation with African countries, declaring the intention of the government to introduce a new law on migration is more effective."
Earlier, European Commissioner for Migration Demetris Avramopoulos announced that the European Union had declared war on smugglers of illegal immigrants.
Aframopoulos also called on the international community to embark on the second phase of the maritime operation in the Mediterranean basin, which would involve the arrest and inspection of all ships and carriers of migrants in international waters.
