[ltr]European stocks rose on Tuesday, boosted by strong market performance in New York and Asia, while Germany's DAX rose to a new record on weak euro performance in early trading.[/ltr]
[ltr]The market generally benefited from a recovery in bank stocks and gains in commodity stocks, with the Stoxx 600 index up 0.2 percent by 0819 GMT, despite disappointing results from companies such as BMW.[/ltr]
[ltr]Germany's automaker fell 2 percent after third-quarter profit fell 5.9 percent, close to the minimum forecast range in a Reuters poll due to new technology costs and a new model. But the world's second-largest luxury car company raised its forecast for this year's pre-tax profit.[/ltr]
[ltr]But Germany's DAX <.DXI> rose 0.3 percent on broad-based market gains.[/ltr]
[ltr]Dialog Semiconductors was the worst performer on the Stoxx 600, down 6.1 percent on cautious expectations for the fourth quarter.[/ltr]
[ltr]Britain's Financial Times 100 index rose 0.1 percent[/ltr]
