A delegation of the federal government in Baghdad arrived on Thursday to the Derbendikhan Dam in the province of Sulaymaniyah to assess the damage caused by the dam due to the earthquake that hit the Kurdistan region recently.
A local official told Shafak News that the government delegation was headed by the Minister of Displacement and Displacement Jassem Mohammed Al-Jaf, a representative of Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, to assess the damage of the dam, indicating that the committee will report damage for restoration as soon as possible.
The official added that the committee will work to deliver relief aid to those affected by the earthquake, as well as record the damage caused to civilians by the earthquake in Kurdistan in order to monitor compensation from the federal government.
