Israeli newspaper: Saudi pressure on Abadi to agree to the survival of Americans in Iraq

The Israeli newspaper Haaretz, the pressures exerted by Saudi Arabia on Prime Minister Haider Abadi to agree to the survival of US forces, noting that Riyadh is trying to open a new front with Iran through Iraq.
The newspaper said in a report that "Saudi Arabia has reached the conclusion that it must inevitably reach, that it must choose for themselves new fronts in order to fight against Iran, and Iraq could be a potential arena for such a confrontation."
"In order to achieve this ambition, Saudi Arabia must convince the Iraqi government headed by Haider al-Abadi to keep US troops in Iraq, although the war against Dahesh came to an end after the liberation of the district of Rawah."
The newspaper pointed out that "a number of members of parliament believe that the approval of the US presence should be limited to guidance and training, but not a military force, while the other members strongly oppose the presence of any foreign force," noting that "in this dispute can "Saudi Arabia should use a lever to pressure Abadi to agree to the survival of US forces, but there is no confirmation that Abbadi will be subject to it."
