    [ltr]Oil prices fell on Monday after US drilling experts increased the number of drilling platforms last week, but prices were not far from their highest level since mid-2015, boosted by a cut in production cuts.[/ltr]
    [ltr]WTI fell 21 cents, or 0.3 percent, to $ 58.15 a barrel at 01:12 GMT.[/ltr]
    [ltr]Brent futures were down 22 cents, or 0.4 percent, lower at $ 63.51 a barrel.[/ltr]
    [ltr]Reuters reported that the number of drilling rigs in the United States rose sharply to 477, the number of active excavators a year ago.[/ltr]
    [ltr]OPEC and non-OPEC producers, led by Russia, agreed to extend the production cuts agreement until the end of 2018.[/ltr]
    [ltr]The agreement was due to expire by the end of next March, but Saudi Energy Minister Khalid al-Faleh told reporters that production cuts would last for another nine months.[/ltr]
