[rtl]A US newspaper expressed doubts about the truth of the news of the destruction of a missile fired at the Saudi capital from Yemeni territory.[/rtl]
[rtl]The New York Times reported that at the beginning of November 2017, Saudi Patriot air defense systems dropped a missile launched by the Houthis from Yemeni territory towards Riyadh.[/rtl]
[rtl]US President Donald Trump praised the success of the US defense system, noting that "no one can do what we produce"He said.[/rtl]
[rtl]However, an analysis of photographs and video footage showed that the missile went beyond air defenses and exploded near Riyadh airport.[/rtl]
[rtl]The wreckage that was found, the debris of the missile, did not contain the remnants of the devastating warhead of the missile, likely to be the warhead separated from the missile before the air defenses addressed him, and continued to fly until landing at the airport.[/rtl]
[rtl]The newspaper said that it has already exaggerated the US government in assessing the effectiveness of the system, "Patriot," noting that the Pentagon announced during the Gulf War the destruction of all missiles Iraq[/rtl]
[rtl]Soviet-made "IR-17s, but subsequent studies have shown that all attempts to intercept those missiles were hardly a failure.[/rtl]
