Pentagon unveils huge military deal with Saudi Arabia

The Pentagon has signed a $ 480 million deal with Saudi Arabia, the Pentagon said Thursday.
"Boeing has won a US $ 480 million defense contract to provide air force support and repair services in Saudi Arabia," the ministry said.
Lockheed Martin also signed a huge US defense contract worth about $ 945 million for Patriot missiles for Qatar and Saudi Arabia, without details of each country's share of the deal, Reuters reported.
In October, Saudi Arabia and the Pentagon signed a deal that included the supply of 44 Thad launch pads and its own tractors, 360 rockets, 16 command centers and 7 radars.
The announcement of the deal, despite the detection of the failure of air defenses of the type «Patriot» in intercepting the missile launched by «Houthis» in Yemen towards the Saudi capital Riyadh, early last month, and exploded near King Khalid Airport east of the capital, Saudi Arabia.
Earlier, Washington criticized Saudi Arabia's announcement of a deal with Russia on the purchase of a number of S-400 missile systems.
