    Shafaq News/ On Saturday, the Federal Supreme Court in Iraq issued a response to an inquiry request submitted by Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani regarding a paragraph in the constitution concerned with the powers of provincial councils (local governments).  
    In its response to Al-Sudani’s request, the court interpreted Article 115 of the Iraqi Constitution, and reviewed details of the tasks and powers of the executive and legislative authorities and the provincial councils. 
    Article 115 of the Iraqi Constitution stipulates that “whatever is not stipulated in the exclusive powers of the federal authorities shall fall within the jurisdiction of the regions and governorates not organized into a region, and other powers shared between the federal government and the regions shall have priority over the law of the regions and governorates not organized into a region.” case of disagreement between them.”
