The Turkish and Syrian armies launched a military operation to control Tel Refa'at, northern Syria, Turkish media reported on Tuesday.
Syrian opposition sources reported that the Russian military police had begun withdrawing from Tall Rifat as Turkish forces began to take control of the area.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said reliable sources said that a meeting was held in the northern countryside of Aleppo between the Turks and the Russians, led to an agreement to hand over the town of Tal Rifat and surrounding villages under the control of the Kurdish People's Protection Units to the fighters of the olive branch.
He added that this agreement comes despite the presence of more than 50 thousand people in the town of Tel Refa'at who were displaced from the area of Afrin, facing an unknown fate after the agreement.
