The Tourism Authority announced on Sunday the government's decision to reduce the visa visa for Iranian visitors during the next month of Muharram in order to counter the low number of visitors coming from Iran as a result of US sanctions imposed on the country.
"The government has issued a decision to reduce the visa visa for Iranian visitors to facilitate the entry of the largest number of visitors during the holy month of Muharram," said Mohammed al-Rafi'i, director of the organization's media.
He denied the "a decision to cancel the visa because of reciprocity by the Iranian side."
He pointed out that "the decline of Iranian tourists reflected negatively on the economic return of the country, especially as Iraq depends heavily on foreign arrivals, especially Iranians to visit the holy sites." Ending / 25 h
