    Khandan -
The United States has asked the UN Security Council to include two Russian shipping companies and six Russian-flagged vessels for violating sanctions against North Korea.

The request, addressed to a UN sanctions committee, is the third US transformer in two months to increase pressure on North Korea to dismantle its nuclear and missile programs.

In its latest request, the United States demanded a freeze on the assets of the Russian shipping companies Primorje Maritime Logistics and Goodezone Shiping, which they accuse of dealing with North Korea and blacklisting them.

US officials say the two companies own the oil tanker M / V Patriot, which twice moved its oil tanker to two North Korean tankers this year.

The US Treasury Department on Tuesday imposed sanctions on the Russian companies and the six ships.

Russian ambassador to the United Nations Vasily Nibenzia told AFP that US sanctions were "illegal" and that the evidence provided by Washington was "not convincing." "Certainly we will object, that is certain."

The sanctions committee is expected to consider the US request by Aug. 29, diplomats said.

On Aug. 10, Russia and China blocked a US request to add a Russian bank, one person and two North Korean entities to the UN blacklist.

In July, the two countries refused to decide on a US request to halt oil shipments to North Korea.

Russia and China have called on the Security Council to consider easing sanctions to reward North Korea for opening a dialogue with the United States and stopping missile tests.

Earlier, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced he would make a fourth visit to North Korea next week, accompanied by new special envoy Stephen Began.

The United States calls for keeping "maximum pressure" on sanctions against North Korea to force it to dismantle its nuclear and missile programs.

Last year, the Security Council imposed three sets of sanctions on North Korea to ban the export of coal, iron ore, lead, crude lead, sea-water and other products, and banned deliveries of oil.

The sanctions are aimed at cutting off sources of funding for North Korea's military programs.
