The Russian army: The disengagement zone in the Golan is free of heavy weapons
confirmed the deputy commander of a group of Russian forces in Syria, Wednesday, complete disarmament of heavy weapons in the disengagement between Israel and Syria in the Golan Heights area.
"During the work of the Russian military police units in the region, the situation there has improved markedly, and thanks to this work, large quantities of arms and ammunition have been confiscated, and today I can confidently confirm that the area is now free of heavy weapons," said Sergey Koralenko, quoted by Russian news agencies. "He said.
He added that there may be small warehouses for small arms and small arms, and said: "The task of the Russian military police is continuing, and continue to conduct joint patrols with the United Nations to monitor the entire area of disengagement."
He pointed out that the Syrian mine experts, trained by the Russian military, are ready to begin demining the land and roads of the area adjacent to the tape after being cleared of the gunmen, which will ensure the safety of movement along the routes of the UN patrols.
He added that the Russian military engineers will provide the required support to their Syrian counterparts to ensure their safety in the region.
