Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasimi denied reports that a meeting between Qods Force commander Qassem Soleimani and US special envoy to the United States, Brig. Gen. Brett McGurk, was held in Baghdad on Tuesday.
"We do not think of negotiating with America, and the meeting of General Soleimani with an American official is baseless," Qassimi said during his weekly press conference.
The US embassy in Baghdad also denied the meeting of McGowork with Qassem Soleimani.
The channel "avatoday" of the Iranian opposition, quoted on Saturday, a source described as early that "Baghdad embraced a secret meeting between Sulaymani and Brit McGuck," adding that "the latter told Suleiman that the US president calls for the withdrawal of forces of the Quds Force from Iraq, In Iraq under the cover of the popular crowd. "
