The sense of "greatness" controls the Iranians to replicate the ancient Persian Empire, prompting the support of five entities to regain its hegemony over the region.

The report said Tehran was "seeking to exploit the terms set out in the July 2015 multilateral nuclear agreement with the United States and Western countries to emerge as a regional center for energy and trade and to negotiate future arms purchases."

According to the report, "five entities receive funds from Iran, namely: allied governments and armed factions, such as the Assad regime in Syria, the Lebanese Hezbollah, the Huthi militias in Yemen, the Iraqi Shiite militias, and the Bahraini armed groups."

"The role of Iran is not limited to the military support of allies and armed factions, there is a wide range of observers that provided funding for political candidates in neighboring Iraq and Afghanistan."
