Barkindo: Oil investment recovery still slow

OPEC Secretary-General Mohamed Barkindo said the investments needed to ensure stability in the world oil industry were returning after a recession but the pace was still slow.
In a statement to Reuters on the sidelines of a meeting of the OPEC Monitoring Committee and non-OPEC producers in Baku, Barkindo said major oil producers had made significant achievements in terms of cooperation and efforts to avoid imbalances in supply and demand in the world oil market.
He said he welcomed more engagement with the United States to address the sector's issues.
