Parliamentary regions call for holding provincial council elections as soon as possible

The Committee on the Regions and the provinces, on Thursday, to accelerate the holding of provincial elections.
"The committee demanded today the provincial council elections as soon as possible, during the meeting held by the committee on Thursday," MP Shirwan Dobrudani said in a statement received by the committee.
"The committee held today an important meeting, on the date of the provincial elections, including Kirkuk and the disputed areas."
He stressed that "the committee will also meet with governmental and non-governmental organizations to enrich the draft provincial councils, especially since the House of Representatives conducted the first reading of the project on 28 March last."
"The committee will decide the date of holding provincial elections, to vote on the bill in the House of Representatives." End 25 n
