Iraq awaits Saudi approval for next pilgrimage[/rtl]

(Baghdad: Al Furat News) The Supreme Commission for Hajj and Umrah said that it is waiting for the official approval of the Saudi authorities on increasing the share of Iraq from the Hajj seats so that they can submit the winners by lot of names next year.
"The Authority has not received official approval from the Saudi Ministry of Hajj on the increase of Iraq's annual quota to 50 thousand seats instead of the current approved quota of 33 thousand and 690 seats," said spokesman Hassan Fahad al-Kanani in a press statement. The Commission will announce the names of the winners of the draw next year 2020 to complete the difference in the number of seats obtained up to 50 thousand seats after giving the share of Kurdistan region and the Foundation martyrs.
"The increase of 16,310 seats will be distributed by 60 percent for the elderly and 40 percent for the rest of the population," he said.
Al-Kanani stressed that the Commission has done the role of the medical capacity committee extensively for this year in order to examine the winners of the Hajj lot for the current year accurately, to determine the eligibility of their health, physical and mental, and to ascertain their ability to perform the rituals of Hajj. On the chronic diseases they suffer and give them appropriate advice and medical treatments throughout the duration of their stay in the Holy Land and help them to perform their duties without the occurrence of problems or obstacles to correct the health crises Which may be exposed to pilgrims "
