The General Authority of Customs announced on Monday the application of a new mechanism for the entry of medicines, medical supplies and laboratory equipment as of 2019/8/1.
In a statement received by Mawazine News, the agency said in a statement that it "will proceed as an executive authority to implement the recommendations of the Diwan Order No. (6) of 2019, which included the establishment of a mechanism to control the entry of medicines and medical and laboratory equipment and supplies, Scientific Offices and the Ministry of Health ".
"The dry port in Abu Ghraib will be approved as well as the site of the Chaljiyeh in Baghdad as the two points of demarcation of these materials," he said, noting that "120 days have been given from the date of 2019/7/16. Baghdad Airport, Basra Airport, Umm Qasr Middle Port, and the ports of Trebil, Al-Manziriya and Ibrahim Al-Khalil ".
The Authority warned that "these materials will be treated as smuggled materials in the event they come from outside the outlets that have been identified and after the expiration of the period of the above period and will be subject to Article (192) of the Customs Law No. 23 of 1984 amending."
The Commission affirmed "the exception of the raw materials in the pharmaceutical industry from the procedures of the Diwaniya Orders (147) for the year 2018 (6) for the year 2019 and apply the same procedures as currently adopted."
