, The Finance Committee confirmed in the House of Representatives, on Monday, that it will host the Chairman of the General Retirement Commission for research in the obstacles faced by amending the General Retirement Law, pointing out that new amendments will be introduced to the law.
Member of the Finance Committee Magda Al-Tamimi said, "There are many pensioners' complaints received by the Finance Committee, including those concerning the families and widows of the deceased from them, who were not covered by the increase in salaries, and other segments."
A member of the Finance Committee stated that she was "not convinced by the recent amendments to the retirement law, because it came without studying and urgently."
She confirmed that she had asked the “Finance Committee to reconsider some exceptions after reducing the retired age from 63 to 60,” noting that they are not there.
She added, "There is a problem in distributing the end-of-service bonus, and not applying the increase in the pension to 400 thousand dinars."
She explained that "the Finance Committee will host the Chairman of the General Retirement Commission to know the problems of retirees," stressing that "the law will witness an amendment of its provisions, commensurate with the demands of citizens and non-exclusion."
The amendment of the retirement law came into effect since the beginning of the current year 2020, and did not include an increase in the improvement of the life mentioned in the amendment of 100 thousand dinars; the beneficiaries of the families of deceased retirees, as did not include an increase in the minimum pension for those families, as long as Last year, no end-of-service bonus was included, which includes amending the law for a broad segment of retirees.
