Politician Izzat al-Shabandar revealed his candidacy for the presidency of the interim government as a substitute for the resigning Adel Abdel-Mahdi, who is tasked with the task, Adnan al-Zarfi.

He added that "the Al-Fateh Alliance told the blocs to invite him to the position of prime minister," noting that "he is currently working to persuade Al-Zarfi to apologize."
