    Baghdad/
Today, Friday, the Civil Defense Directorate confirmed that the fire incidents in some markets, including today's fire in the popular Amel neighborhood market, are accidental and not fabricated.
The Director of Civil Defense Kazem Salman Bohan said, in a press statement, that he “does not deny the premise of intentional in some incidents in general, but he does not tend to this hypothesis in the fires that occurred in the markets recently,” explaining that “these fires occurred in the morning time, whether in a market fire. The Karrada or the Al-Amel neighborhood market fire and all the shopkeepers are present. It is unreasonable for a party to burn the markets in front of the people and clearly and that if these fires were contrived, they would have occurred late at night, and not in full view of everyone.
He added that "most of the markets that spread in Baghdad and in the governorates are made of (sandwich panel) or (Ginko) and built in a random and irregular manner, and these materials from which the markets are made are quickly flammable," noting that "most of these fires are contactless." An electrician or the failure of the shopkeepers and their underestimation of the seriousness of these materials and their flammability.
Bohan emphasized that “the fire accidents that occurred last year amounted to nearly 30 thousand fires and that a statistical study showed that 41% of them were due to electrical contact, in addition to negligence and failure to observe safety and security conditions and the wide uses of random construction, sandwich panels, ginkgo and storage. Fundamentalist and irregular ”.
He pointed out that "the civil defense teams have field tours in the tens and hundreds and have lists of thousands, and warned and met the owners of these stores, buildings and stores, and referred them to the judiciary and they will be held accountable, but there is insistence on the violation because these materials are cheap and cheap, so they resort to it."
