"The Minister of Industry and Minerals, Manhal Al-Khabb, chaired a meeting of the Central Committee to review and approve the referral, and during the meeting, the referral and contracting procedures for projects and plants producing cement were discussed," the ministry stated in a statement.
The minister stressed, according to the statement, "the importance of restarting the stalled cement factories and projects and employing their workers, provided that this is done according to correct legal procedures and contexts, and not bypassing the powers and instructions in force."
He directed "to prepare a detailed feasibility study on the needs of cement plants, as well as to study the bidding announcement file for these plants by the concerned departments in a precise manner in order to make the appropriate decision and approve the referral during the next meeting of the committee."
