Today, Wednesday, the Parliamentary Economic Committee confirmed that the federal budget for the year 2021 will go through today's session.
Committee member Falah al-Khafaji said in a statement to “Al-Khabari National Center”, “Passing the budget in today's session, which was called for by Council Chairman Muhammad al-Halbousi, is very likely after all the blocs have shared their dues and shares of the budget.”
Noting that "the blocks have reached an agreement with the region regarding the delivery of oil revenues for 250 thousand barrels per day, and if he does not comply, the agreement will be considered completely canceled."
He stressed that "the region does not abide by this agreement, just like in past years."
He explained that "the main disagreement is not with the region. Rather, it was over partisan shares, not the interest of the citizen."
