Baghdad - Mawazine News,
the leader of the victory coalition, Haider al-Abadi, opened the money accounts file and the Kurdistan referendum, explaining why he lost the second term.
Al-Abadi said, in a televised interview, that "when I assumed the presidency of the government, there was no communication between us and the region, and issues could not be discussed with the region during the battles," indicating that "the Kurds have a separation project and I stood in the way of this project."
He added, "The Kurds filmed that the referendum was an opinion poll during the dialogues between us, and the referendum came at a time when the territories were not completely liberated from ISIS."
Al-Abadi added, "I was subjected to international pressure because of the measures I took with the regional government, and I asked the regional government to disclose accounts for the money they obtained, but they refused to do so. So far, no one knows where the oil export money from the region is going."
He explained, "The struggle for power made those who were standing with the government against it in the elections, that what happened in 2018 lost the compass of the political process," stressing that "party interests lost the concept of the largest bloc they were clinging to."
And Abadi added, "We were close to forming a second government had it not been for the threat of some to take up arms. The threat of weapons scared the wise ones who fear for the future of the country."
He added, "Faleh al-Fayyad told me that he withdrew from the Ataa movement, but I was surprised by his electoral campaign, who does not fulfill his oath with God in alliances, as he does not fulfill his oath with the people, that many countries do not want a strong and patriotic prime minister."
He explained, "No one was accused of treason in the airport incident, but I accused them of mismanagement. I did not drop nor a political opponent when I was prime minister, and since I was head of the Finance Committee, I was against the privileges of officials and reduced the salaries of officials in half."
And Abadi added: "The salaries of the employees of the three presidencies have only been reduced, and the salary of any other employee has not been yesterday, and that some close to me have become against me after the salaries were reduced."
He pointed out, "The abolition of the positions of prime ministers and the republic was not targeting them personally, nor did I ever interfere in the judiciary, but rather I supported it, and the results were changed in the 2018 elections."
And he added: "The 2018 elections did not witness any terrorist operation or a security breach, and the report of the election investigation committee was submitted to the judiciary and the judiciary decided to raise the hand of the commissioners, and the report revealed a very large fraud by the vote commissioners."
He continued, "Regional forces were afraid of Al-Abadi's continuation as prime minister, if the results of the 2018 elections were canceled, they would have entered Iraq into the tunnel of chaos," calling: "the current commissioners to be keen to protect the electoral process and call on citizens to participate broadly."
He continued by saying: "We signed a roadmap contract with Siemens in 2016 and in 2018 we signed an agreement with them, after which the agreement with Siemens froze, and the annual electricity spending is 16 trillion dinars," pointing out that "corruption whales benefit from not improving the reality of Electricity.
