    Today, Wednesday, the Legal Committee of the House of Representatives revealed the existence of great corruption in the file of foreign workers in Iraq, calling on the government to find guarantees and privileges for the Iraqi workers segment.
    Committee member Hussein Al-Aqabi said in a special statement to the "National News Center", "The workers' retirement and social security law before the House of Representatives includes pension contributions for insured workers. “.
    Al-Uqabi added, "It is necessary to find legal remedies for retired workers working in the private sector, which represents a major problem that directs the Iraqi government to absorb the large numbers, which may reach about 3 million workers, who are not insured on pension," adding: "Therefore, the state must It legislates a law that provides guarantees and privileges for this important segment, by allocating pension salaries, determining the age of service, health insurance, and limiting job opportunities in the private sector to local workers.”
    He continued, "The implementation and application of the Labor and Pension Law is a problem, given the existence of a retirement law for workers in the royal era," noting that "the number of insured workers from whom pension contributions are received does not exceed 400 to 500 thousand workers, and 20% of the total local employment."
    Al-Uqabi revealed, "there is great corruption in the file of foreign workers, as it seizes job opportunities in the private sector, despite its limitations, and it may reach more than one million foreign workers present in Iraq."
    The member of the committee called for “putting an end to the infiltration of foreign workers into the country and fighting companies that attract foreign workers in violation of the law and legislation in force,” stressing “the need to work to raise the rate of social security insurance for workers at high rates.”
    He pointed out that "the new retirement and security law, which will cancel the previous law, has good privileges for insured workers that meet their needs."
