    {Political: Al Furat News} The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned today, Monday, the American bombing of the Popular Mobilization headquarters on the Syrian border, and considered it a violation of sovereignty.
    The spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Al-Sahaf, said in a statement that {Euphrates News} received a copy of it, that "the Iraqi Foreign Ministry condemns the air attack last night, which affected a site on the Iraqi-Syrian border," stressing that "the ministry renews its total rejection that Iraq is a party to any conflict or Confronting the settling of scores on its lands, which is an assault and a violation of national sovereignty and a clear departure from international norms and conventions. 
    Al-Sahhaf added: "We affirm our adherence to Iraq's sovereignty and unity and rely on everything that would enhance that, through sustained coordination and communication with various parties and through diplomatic initiatives and endeavors that ensure the non-repetition of such rejected and condemned hostile acts." 
    And he indicated, "The Iraqi government is proceeding with its investigative procedures in a manner that guarantees the sovereign right to do so, to prevent any escalation that we see detrimental to Iraq's security and stability and to guarantee the sovereign right to that, to prevent any escalation that we see prejudices the security and stability of Iraq." 
    And the Popular Mobilization Authority announced that at two o'clock in the morning today, Monday, the American aircraft targeted three stationed points of the Popular Mobilization Forces (the 14th and 46th Brigades) at a distance of 13 km inside the Iraqi borders in the Qaim district, west of Anbar Governorate.
    And she said in a statement, "This attack resulted in the rise of 4 martyrs, who were performing their usual duty to prevent the infiltration of ISIS terrorist elements from Syria into Iraq as part of the official duty of the Popular Mobilization Forces under the Joint Operations Command, and they were not involved in any activity against the foreign presence in Iraq, which the Popular Mobilization Authority had previously announced." She made her position clear over and over again.
    He stressed that "the PMF points that were bombed do not include any warehouses or the like, contrary to the American allegations that I listed in order to justify the crime of targeting PMF fighters."
    The spokesman for the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasoul, condemned in a statement today, "the US air attack, which targeted a site on the Iraqi-Syrian border last night, and which represents a blatant and unacceptable violation of Iraqi sovereignty and Iraqi national security in accordance with all international covenants."
    He added, "Iraq renews its refusal to be an arena for settling accounts and adheres to its right to sovereignty over its lands and to prevent its use as an arena for reactions and attacks," calling for "calm down and avoiding escalation in all its forms, stressing that Iraq will carry out the necessary investigations, procedures and communications at various levels to prevent such violations."

    The US military announced in an official statement that it had targeted "operational facilities and weapons depots in two locations in Syria and one location in Iraq." He did not disclose whether anyone was killed or injured, but officials close to the crowd said that four fighters were killed in the bombing.
    According to the US military statement, the strikes came under the direction of President Joe Biden, the second time he has ordered such strikes, since he took office five months ago.
