    Today, Sunday, Minister of Oil Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar instructed to expedite the implementation of optimal investment projects for gas and increase production, while noting the government's keenness to support projects to increase production of oil and gas .
    And the ministry's media office said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Abdul-Jabbar stressed, during his visit to the North Oil Company, the government's and the ministry's keenness to advance the production sector in the North Oil Company and work to increase, sustain and develop it."
    The Minister of Oil said in an expanded meeting he held with officials in the North Oil Company, that "the ministry aims to speed up addressing technical, economic and security problems and challenges, and to launch plans to increase and sustain production based on the development axis of the national effort, and the axis of cooperation with international companies."
    He praised, "the national effort represented by the North Oil Company and its supporters, in extinguishing the well fires, which are one of the most complex and most difficult accidents in the oil industry, praising them for extinguishing the wells in a record time and time, while saving millions of hard currency by stopping the bleeding of waste as a result of targeting." caused by terrorism.
    For his part, the governor of Kirkuk, Rakan al-Jubouri, said that "the province's administration will support all efforts aimed at developing the oil and gas industry in the province."
    Meanwhile, Undersecretary for Extraction Affairs Karim Hattab stressed that "the meetings discussed ways to advance the oil industry, expedite the implementation of plans to sustain and increase production from the oil fields of the North Oil Company, and the optimal investment of gas associated with oil operations."
    The statement continued, "The Minister of Oil's tour included a visit to the North Gas Company and a meeting with officials in the company, in which he discussed ways to develop and increase production and optimal investment for associated gas from dry, liquid and sulfur."
    He praised, "the efforts of workers in the gas sector to work on increasing production and supplying electric power stations with good quantities of dry gas."
    And instructed the Minister of Oil, "to speed up the implementation of optimal investment projects for gas and increase production, stressing his support and backing for these efforts."
    The Minister of Oil had arrived in Kirkuk, accompanied by the Undersecretary for Extraction Affairs and a number of officials at the Ministry's headquarters.
