    Yes Iraq: Baghdad

Once again, the Iranian side expresses its “dissatisfaction” with the volume of trade exchange with Iraq, which amounted to $8 billion, at a time when the Iranian consul in Basra expressed Iran’s desire to triple this number. Previous Iranian desires spoke of larger numbers
The Iranian Consul in Basra, Ali Ayadi, revealed the Iranian side’s “dissatisfaction” with the volume of trade exchange with Iraq, which amounts to 8 billion annually, in light of the presence of 12 official border crossings between the two countries. He indicated Iran’s desire to double this exchange to 24 billion annually.
Ayadi said that his visit today to Dhi Qar governorate comes within the framework of researching the possibility of developing joint cooperation and exchanging experiences and capabilities between Iraqi and Iranian merchants, pointing out that all the northern outlets are operating at full capacity, while the southern outlets operate to a limited extent and within the framework of the agricultural aspect.

Earlier, Assistant Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomatic Affairs Mahdi Safari said during a meeting of the Iranian Foreign Economic Relations Coordination Committee, that border problems with Iraq must be resolved to expand trade exchange by up to twice the volume of the current trade exchange, according to Iranian media.
Safri presented a report on his latest visits to Baghdad and the Kurdistan region with the aim of identifying and removing obstacles that hinder the development of economic relations, and stressed the possibility of expanding trade between the two countries by up to twice the current exchange volume after solving the existing border problems.

Desire to raise trade exchange equivalent to Iraq's budget for two years!
In September of last year, the head of the Iranian-Iraqi Parliamentary Friendship Group in the Iranian Islamic Consultative Assembly, Mojtaba Yousfi, spoke about the possibility of exporting Iranian technical and engineering services to Iraq worth 50 billion dollars annually, while indicating the possibility of raising the trade exchange between the two countries to 190 billion dollars, which means Doubling the current figure of more than $12 billion, at a rate of 95%, or multiplying it 16 times.
Yousfi said in a statement to IRNA, followed by “Yes Iraq”, that based on the expectations and studies of experts, the possibility exists to export Iranian technical and engineering services to Iraq in the field of energy only (construction of power stations) and the development of oil fields amounting to 50 billion dollars annually.
A member of the Presidency of the Islamic Consultative Assembly referred to the visit of Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi to Iran last week and the consensus that occurred during the visit. dollars annually, while the figure is currently 12.5 billion dollars, which is a small number compared to the large capacities available.

And the 190 billion dollars represents a value of 300 trillion dinars, which is a budget that is sufficient for Iraq for nearly 3 years.
Earlier, spokesman for the Customs Administration of the Republic of Iran, Ruhollah Latifi, confirmed that “Iran’s imports from Iraq amounted to 313,612 tons, worth $175.99 million, in the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-August 22), as it showed. Increase in weight and value by 970% and 430% respectively compared to the same period last year.”
He added, "While Iranian exports to Iraq amounted to 12.02 million tons, worth $3.16 billion, indicating an annual increase of 53% and 31% in tonnage and value, respectively."

On this basis, the value of what Iraq exports to Iran is only 5%, while what Iraq imports from Iran is 95%, which means that if the trade exchange between Iran and Iraq is raised to 20 billion dollars, it means that Iraq will export to Iran only 1 billion dollars, and imports from Iran with $19 billion.
