The Federal Integrity Commission's Investigation Department announced, on Monday, that it had seized "cases of embezzlement" amounting to nearly one and a half billion dinars and an "exaggeration" in prices in Maysan Governorate.
The department said, "The Maysan Investigation Office team, which moved to the Maysan Oil Company - the Financial Authority - Individual Accounts Department, was able to seize a number of officials in the company, against the background of embezzlement of sums of money that exceeded (1,320,000,000) billion dinars through repeated disbursement of documents." The department added, in a statement received by Mawazine News, that "the operation also resulted in the arrest of the person's accounts department official, the person responsible for preparing the exchange document, as well as the company's auditor, one of its employees, and the priorities of all duplicate exchange documents."
And she continued, "In a second operation, the team that moved to the health department in the governorate revealed that there was an exaggeration in the purchase and maintenance prices for the requirements of the civil defense system in the Department of Health, in addition to violations of the controls and instructions that accompanied the purchase of supplies."
The circuit indicated that "the organization of two fundamentalist arrest reports in the two operations, which were carried out based on two judicial notes, and presented them with the accused and the seized documents to the judge of the Investigation Court specialized in integrity issues in Maysan, who decided to arrest the accused in accordance with the provisions of Article (315) of the Penal Code."
