Today, Saturday, the Iraqi Council of Representatives held its session dedicated to electing the President of the Republic, with an incomplete quorum, according to the interpretation of the Federal Court.
And the media department of the Council stated in a statement, received by Mawazine News, that "Al-Halbousi held a session to elect the speaker of parliament, with the attendance of 202 deputies," noting that "the parliament began voting on a number of paragraphs after the session turned into a deliberative one."
He added, "Parliament voted to add a new paragraph to its agenda, and to vote on Parliament votes on members of the Finance Committee and a first reading of the emergency support bill for food security and development."
