The second deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Shakhwan Abdullah, announced, on Monday, that the procedures for passing the Food Security Law are proceeding.
According to a statement by his office, Mawazine News received a copy of it, Shakhwan Abdullah chaired the meeting of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, which was held today, Monday 4/11/2022, in the presence of the Chairman of the Committee, Hassan Al-Kaabi and members of the Committee. His approval, while Abdullah praised the efforts made by the Finance Committee and their tireless and continuous work to mature this law and make the necessary amendments to it.
Shakhwan stressed that the draft law on emergency support for food security is very important because it directly affects the livelihood of citizens and will secure the provision of ration card items and food baskets, noting that the draft law includes in its articles the disbursement of financial dues for the past years to farmers, the possibility of supporting the agricultural sector and encouraging local production in a way that enhances Stabilizing markets and securing basic foodstuffs.
