, today, Sunday, economic expert Safwan Qusay considered the adoption of the Food Security Law an "urgent necessity".
In an interview with Mawazine News, Qusay stated that "the absence of the 2022 budget has led to a public spending deficit in some government units that cannot exceed the financial allocations, which were spent during the year 2021."
He pointed out, "The government has taken measures to provide the food basket ration card, which is governed by laws such as paying farmers' dues for previous years and others."
He added, "The adoption of the Food Security Law is an urgent necessity because it targets poor segments such as beneficiaries of social welfare and the provision of food ration card items, and unlike the adoption of the law, the government cannot meet its obligations related to food security and others."
