Iran is waving "violent and strong" responses if the Kurdistan authorities do not address "hostile groups"
Shafaq News/ The former Iranian ambassador, Iraj Masjedi, said today, Wednesday, that Tehran will have "violent and strong" responses if the Kurdistan Region authorities do not address what he called "anti-revolutionary groups", commenting on the missile attack carried out by the Revolutionary Guards on the city of Erbil.
Masjedi said in a television interview, broadcast by the Kurdish channel, Kurdistan News, and seen by Shafak News Agency, that "his country's relations with the Kurdistan Region began after the uprising in the nineties of the last century," and they are solid and continuing relations until now, stressing that "the two sides have long borders, which are It is a great place for trade and cultural exchange, and that is why we look at the region's importance."
He added that "the Kurdistan region within the united Iraq is our best friend and brother, and Iraq is a friend and brother to us, and there is no doubt that all of this is in accordance with the legal framework of the region set by the central government in Baghdad," explaining, "We do not want to violate that in any way, because respecting Iraq's unity for It is very important to us, and respect for the region, its rights and authorities is important to us, as we have hundreds of kilometers from the border.”
Masjedi continued, "As for the missile strikes, I say one line. There is a fact that the region's officials must know, which is to put the security situation of the Islamic Republic in mind, and to see the concern of the Islamic Republic, and the region must not turn into a platform for creating unrest and affecting Iran's internal security." He added, "We are communicating our concerns in a friendly manner to those in power in the region."
Masjedi demanded, "the region's officials consider Iran's security concern a real thing," stressing that "Iran will never pose a threat to the region with cannons, planes and missiles. We did not use the language of missiles."
Masjedi added, "If we look at previous years, it becomes clear to you that what I say is correct. We told the region's officials that the Kurdish groups opposing the Islamic Revolution should not use the region's lands as a launching pad for attacks on the security of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and we have repeated this saying many times. If our friends took The issue was taken seriously and they ended our concern and addressed the issue, as there is no reason left for the Islamic Republic to threaten military action, and this is our demand from the region."
And the Iranian ambassador warned by saying, "If these demands were not taken seriously and our security concerns did not end anywhere, and my words are not specific to the Kurdistan Region, we will not have any enmity," noting that "the Islamic Republic of Iran will have violent and strong responses, so the Our dear brothers in the Kurdistan Region should sit down with the officials of the Islamic Republic and negotiate with them to identify the causes of fear and anxiety, and then begin to address and end them.
In response to a question that the Iranian missile attacks have nothing to do with security concerns, but rather have something to do with the production of gas in the region and its export abroad or to the Iraqi interior to benefit from it?, Masjedi said, "This place has nothing to do with gas at all. We have security concerns and concerns that I have clarified, But the issue of gas and oil is an internal Iraqi issue, and Iraqi officials are the ones to decide on it."
