    The US State Department urged all political parties in Iraq to expedite the formation of the government, as the delay impedes the progress of relations between the two countries
    . That security and economy, stressing that the absence of a fully functioning government will lead to insecurity and stability and threaten to undermine the confidence of the international community and the confidence of the Iraqi people. Gavito stressed that Washington wants a strong, united and sovereign Iraqi state, noting that the United States does not take any position on the personalities that will participate in the next government.
