Because of the lack of support, Salah El-Din is likely to reduce wheat production by 40%

Shafaq News/ Salah al-Din Governorate suggested a decrease in wheat production by more than 40% due to the lack of government support and sustainable agriculture.
The head of the Union of Farmers' Associations in Salah al-Din, Karim Kurdi al-Dulaimi, told Shafaq News Agency; "Farmers suffered from a lack of support from all the requirements of the winter agricultural plan, most notably fertilizers after reducing farmers' quotas from 50 kg per acre to 5 kg of wheat only, in addition to the lack of other agricultural requirements and ingredients."
and between al-Dulaimi; "The lack of support and the scarcity of desert cultivation of wheat (the permaculture) prompted most farmers to reduce modern irrigation projects and reduce the number of sprinklers and pumps needed to avoid unsustainable financial costs."
Al-Dulaimi called on the Ministry of Commerce to "accelerate the payment of wheat marketing dues to overcome the financial problems and compensate for the heavy losses they incurred during the winter agricultural season."
The Salah al-Din Agriculture Directorate, earlier via Shafak News, suggested that about 600 thousand tons of wheat would be produced during the current season, while it demanded an increase in marketing and receiving centers to speed up the export of wheat to other governorates.
Salah al-Din warned, in earlier times and through Shafak News Agency, of the "failure" of the winter agricultural plan and living disasters affecting 80% of the governorate's population due to the delay in disbursing grain marketing dues to farmers by the Ministry of Trade.
