Shafaq News/ Today, Thursday, Salah al-Din Governorate announced the marketing of 290,000 tons of wheat to the grain silos of the Ministry of Trade, while it "praised" the commitment of its farmers to government marketing and the commitment of the relevant ministries to procedures for payment of marketing dues.
The head of the Federation of Farmers' Associations in Salah al-Din Karim Kurdi al-Dulaimi told Shafaq News Agency, "The farmers of Salah al-Din fully and perfectly adhered to the controls of the government's agricultural plan, and the governorate did not witness any marketing violations outside the specified outlets of the Ministry of Trade, despite the temptations of prices and their rise compared to the official prices announced by the Ministry of Trade. With the exception of non-edible fodder grains, to local agricultural offices and companies.
He added that he marketed 290,000 tons of the wheat crop to the silos of the Ministry of Commerce, praising the "measures of payment of marketing dues with a high flow on a weekly basis by the ministries of finance and trade."
Al-Dulaimi confirmed that "the production of wheat in Salah al-Din will exceed 300,000 tons for the current season, while it reached 350,000 tons last season, despite the absence and lack of government support and the reduction of the winter plan for the current season by 50%."
The head of the Union of Farmers' Associations suggested that "the area of the agricultural plan in Salah al-Din will increase to more than two million dunams in the event that the necessary support and a modern agricultural plan are available to raise production rates and revive the local economy in the province."
Salah al-Din Governorate suffered from serious problems faced by agricultural plans, most notably the absence of government support and agricultural requirements, and the reluctance to pay marketing dues, which left huge material and living losses.
